Jaguar boosts prices on S-Type, XJ models

DETROIT -- Jaguar North America has tacked on price increases ranging between $500 and $1,000 to all but one trim level in the S-Type and XJ model lines.
So far this year, Jaguar sales totaled 8,707 units, down 22.5 percent compared to the first quarter of 2004.
The automaker said prices for the X-type and XJ lines, and all options are unchanged. The prices include a $665 destination charge.
Through the first three months of this year, S-Type sales are down 12.2 percent to 2,441 units. New base prices for the S-Type are:
3.0 V-6, $44,895, unchanged.
4.2 V-8, $52,495, up $500.
4.2 V-8 VDP Edition, $55,795, up $500.
R 4.2 V-8 supercharged, $59,995, up $1,000.
Through the first three months of this year, XJ sales are down 9.9 percent to 2,333 units. New base prices for the XJ lineup are:
4.2 V-8, $61,995, up $500.
L 4.2 V-8, $64,495, up $1,000.
Vanden Plas 4.2 V-8, $71,995, up $1,000.
XJR 4.2 V-8 supercharged, $76,995, up $1,000.
Super V-8 4.2 supercharged, $90,995, up $1,000.
