DETROIT -- Brian Colianni has been promoted to the new position of senior vice president of sales and marketing for Mazda in North America.
The move puts Colianni in charge of all of Mazda’s advertising, marketing and sales operations in the region. Colianni joined Mazda in February 2004 from Ford Motor Co., which owns a controlling interest in Mazda. He had worked in Ford’s customer service division.
Colianni most recently was Mazda’s vice president of customer service and parts operations. That post will be filled by Shusuke Koreeda, who was vice president of product marketing, Mazda said.
Koreeda joined Mazda in 1980 in Japan and moved to the automaker’s North American unit in 1986.
Colianni and Koreeda report to Jim O’Sullivan, Mazda North American Operations president and CEO.
