LOS ANGELES -- Mazda has created a director of marketing position for its North American operations. The post will be filled by David Klan, who has been general manager of global brand marketing for parent company Mazda Motor Corp. in Japan.
In his new job, Klan, 37, will be in charge of all advertising and marketing for Mazda North American Operations. Klan, who starts his new job Aug. 1, will report to Brian Colianni, senior vice president of sales and marketing.
Klan began his Mazda career in 1992 at Mazda Canada. He was director of marketing there for nearly three years until being assigned to Japan in March 2004 for the global brand marketing job.
