Merrill cuts Ford to "sell"

NEW YORK -- Merrill Lynch today downgraded Ford Motor Co. to "sell" from "neutral," saying the automaker's new restructuring plan fell below expectations.
The brokerage said the incremental restructuring actions were focused on an expanded buyout program but did not address many other levers.
The plan does not address the losses at Jaguar or asset sales, does not accelerate product launches or provide a solution for facilities assumed from Visteon Corp., Merrill added in its research note.
