I have a new to me 2003 Thunderbird that has a middle brake light bulb that goes on and off, how do you access it?

The owners manual says to take to a qualified technician to change the top mounted brake light, why is this needed to replace a bulb?

Because it's probably not a bulb and a complete L.E.D. assembly that has to be replaced
as one piece.

Your probably correct. Someone at work told me that only the center of the light wasn't working. When i got home I had my wife look at it and the whole brake light bar wass working. I will wait till it stops working again and take it somewhere to be looked at. I am going to buy a shoop service manual soon for the car.

If you think about it......we all think were qualified technicians. haha

I think its just an LED bar. they have them at autozone.(i think) But if you done feel comfortable with disconnecting a plug and reconnecting a new one, any shop will be able to.
