cast

Hi,
I am Cast. I own a 1987 thunderbird turbo coupe. Sometimes when I start the engine it goes into fast idle approx. 1500 rpm and won't come down. There are times when I start it that it does not go to fast idle. In the past, when I shut the engine off and restarted it, the idle would go back to normal. Is there anybody out there who can please give me some advice? O own a Chilton Manual 1983-1992 Thunderbird Cougar ,but I can't find anything which covers this problem.Thanks Ken
