I seem to have a coolant leak way under my 88 t-bird (6 cyl, 3.8 lit engine), past the water pump. While getting my brakes fixed, the repairman said it looked like the leak was coming from the timing chain cover. Could this be right? How difficult is it to access this item on this particular engine? Also, what other areas in the same vicinity could be the cause of the leak? Cheers!

Its the cover.Good luck on gettin bolts out without breaking cover.I would put a new one on because the oil pump is in there and anew cover comes with one in it for about 250 plus a new pump and serp belt!!
