$50 electric turbo....your input - Ford Forums

Im thinking about getting two of these, for a twin turbo setup. Has anybody had any experience with these? Iv heard of someone using just 1 of these on a 3.0. And it suppost to work very well.

Well that's a good article and all, but they should have gone more in depth on the many types of superchargers

I.e.

Roots
Lysholm screw
Sliding vane
Scroll-type supercharger, also known as the G-Lader
Piston as in Bourke engine
Wankel engine

Now... On all the electric stuff, That's a venture better taken by someone else as my car is my project/DD/Grocery getter and I don't need it out of commission again...

I hear you on that, my car is my one and only.....if something happens to it, im SOL. Thats why i have to be certian on everything i wanna do before i jump into it.

P.S. i bought one of those i posted, it should be here mon or tues. If i notice a gain in hp or tourqe, i'll get another.

Iv read around about those imperticular, and people have put one on a 3.0 and 3.5L and have had a pretty noticable gain in hp.

The electric supercharger scam has been going on for years. Every time the subject comes up, in some forum or other, it is completely and totally debunked simply based on the amount of power that is required to run a supercharger/turbocharger of any kind to produce the pressure levels at the volumes needed to increase HP/torque.

Don't waste your time or your money -- but you can if you want

You should post a vid of your acceleration without it and another one WITH it. Just to ease skeptics minds. I'm still skeptical of them, but take it to a Dyno and see if there's any true power or if it's like the placebo pill effect.
