86 Tbird 5.0 spfi low oil pressu at digital dash
Newbie here, with lots of mechanical ability, did look for info on this on the forums, no luck, so here goes!
1986 Tbird, 5.0 port inj with all options and full digital dash, well cared for with 98k miles. When idling in gear (motor warmed up), digital gage states low oil (pressure?). At cruise and idling in park gage reads normal. Bringing revs up a little (100-300 rpm) at in-gear idle brings gage to normal. Cold motor all running conditions gage reads normal. Oil level is good, oil is 10-30 or 40, was told sending unit was faulty, replaced twice, second time mechanic assured us was a genuine Ford unit. I am going to hook a mechanical gage up directly to check real world pressure and verify pump/bearing condition, but I was wondering what else to check on this car. Any other info needed to help me diagnose this?
