Ok, i am new to this forum so take it easy on the critisism. so i have an 89 thunderbird s/c engine swaped into my 94 stang. I am trying to replace the alternator because the bearing is sqweeky, but the trouble is that the intercooler is in the way of the bottom bolt. Also the alternator itself is not able to come out with out the piping that goes directly to the intercooler to be removed. So im asking is there a certain tool to unscrew the piping because it lookes like there are teeth were a specialized tool would go?

Any info on how to get that sucker out would be greatly appreciated.

Yes there is a special tool, it's called a spanner wrench. You can usually find them on ebay.

ok ill look that part up. but one more quick question. will i need any special sealant to seal up the pipe to the intercooler or just any silicone sealer?

Some put sealant on them but if there's no pitting or deep scratches in the mating surface you shouldn't need any. Here's the wrench you need
