I have a 1991 Thunderbird 3.8 Fuel Injection that for some reason, after about 20 minutes of the engine running with the headlights on, the headlights will flicker on and off. Ive checked the wiring and dont see any cuts or breaks, Im really not sure on where to go from here to get this fixed. Can someone give me some help?

my 93 did the same thing head light switch

MY 91 did exact same thing...it was the switch right in the light beam handle..just have to replace it...really cheap to fix and easy! email me if you have questions

same here, on my 93 SC. easy easy to fix. i did it with no tools

Q: The headlights begin to flicker after they have been on for a while. Is there a solution for this?

A: Most of the Fords have a breaker as part of the headlight switch assembly.... it is a circuit breaker and it gets weak after years of use.... A new headlight switch should fix this problem for you.... Ed

everyone here's got it. another cause may be the fog lights. my girls 93 would do the same thing, but only if the stock fogs were on. she started leaving them off and using an aftermarket set we picked up and the problem went away. definatly replace the switch first tho. also, there's something witht the wiring harnes for the switch where they used a light grade wiring and it would tend to burn out after a while. we also replaced that with a 94 or 95 wiring harness. good luck!

Someone just emailed me about this but when i replied it came back in error, so thought id post here....

You have to pull the front dash assembly out . And I ended cutting a small
hole where the headlamp knob is (where you pull the lights to go on )which
made it a lot easier this is where the switch is that needs to be replaced,its not in the steering wheel .
