For my first post,I am about to buy a 1992 Thunderbird with only 59,000 miles on it.What is the horse power of the 302 and what type of fuel injection would it be ? The last fuel injected truck I had was TBI on s-10 Blaser 2.8 v6 and what mule it was .then I had a ford bronco II with a 2.8 and had MPFI and it was fast for a V 6.

The 1992 'Bird should have MPFI on the 302. I do not know what the HP rating is on the old pushrodder, but it is still not that "fast" in terms of refined speed. It shold do OK, as I am driving a 3.8 V-6 that was rated at 140 hp...
My road car (newer and not paid for) is a 3.0 V-6 in an Infiniti, but there is no comparison between these cars. The Infiniti has 220 hp and is a lot more nimble than the 'Bird. The 302 is somewhere around 155-160 hp with a boost in the torque, too. My 4.0 Ranger will outrun the 3.8 'Bird, but "fades fast" over 50 mph...

The 1991 T'Birds with the 302 are rated at 200 hp at 4000 RPM and like 275 lb./ft of torque @ 3000 RPM. I doubt very seriously they changed it that much between 91 and 92. Now, thats at the flywheel, so it's probably puttin about 170ish to the ground. I know mine has plenty of torque, hehe.
