92 T-Bird

Hey,

I am about to get a garaged 92 thunderbird from my Grandfather with the V8 in it..... I was wondering is it the HO version in these cars? I think it says LX on the back, I have not seen the car in years so I do not really know.

Re: 92 T-Bird

To the best of my knowledge, some, but not all, early 90's Thunderbirds had the H.O. motor, and also I believe it was identical to the one found in Mustangs of that year. But as I said, I am not 100% sure. Hope this helped!

Re: 92 T-Bird

thanks....... it still helps me to know that......

strangly I just got the car and it has only a V6 in it...... the funny thing is the car is 12 years old and has only 29700 miles on it.....

my next question is should I convert to 3.8 to a Supercoupe or just drop in a 306 - 351 V8?

I almost hate to change and engine with 30k on it.....

Re: 92 T-Bird

It would handle better with the SC V6...but is there really a substitute for raw V8 power? You should also think about some ground effects...this is what our's looked like when we sold it. I wish we still had it today...

Re: 92 T-Bird

was thinking of ground effects, think I would rather leave it stock so its more of a sleeper....... I already have enough speeding tickets anyway.....

Well I'm leaning more twords the V8..... any suggestions?

302 or 351?

Will a 351 even bolt up? a buddy of mine says the mounts are in the same place......
