Check Engine Light ?

I have a 1995 Ford Thunderbird LX which has a "Check Engine" and a "ABS" light on on the dash. They tell me at my local auto parts stores thay can't read the codes from this vehicle to tell me whats wrong. How do I know what to fix or replace?

Thanks

Re: Check Engine Light ?

Have a look at ABS sensors / wiring . On the off chance check brake fliud level , not sure if that would trigger light on that car also .

Re: Check Engine Light ?

Thunderbirds and Cougars 1994 and up have OBDII. It became mandatory in 1996. Thats why they ask if its a 96 or above. Tell the you have OBDII on passenger side.
