I need some help with the key pad door codes for a Mercury.

I bought a Mercury cougar ('94), and we cant figure out how to re-set the door codes (the key pads on the driver side door) to the codes that we can remember for our self. Can anybody help me here? Mahalo.

Get the factory perment numbers off the trunk hinge or off the module box for the keyless entry.

Then punch the factory code in. When you get it in push #1 then put your 5 digit number in. That should do it.

Mahalo (thank you) for repyling to my thread.
Sorry for sounding so ignorant, but what is the module box and where can I find this item.
I've looked in the trunk, and dont see any type of stick with numbers, is it stamped in the metal part it's self?

the module box is usally located behind the carpet panel on the driver's side. It's black and should have a sticker with the factory code printed on it
