Hi There,

My son has a 97 T-Bird and had it 2 weeks and now the car will not start. My husband thinks it could be the tumbler cause the ignition turns but seems to go too far. My son said he has to turn the ignition reallllll hard to get it to "catch"... Does anyone have any ideas what it is or how much something liek this would cost to get fixed?

The ignition switch ,not the key switch, is located on the steering column,on the top side. It could be out of adjustment or bad. There is a rod that goes from the key cylinder,down the column to the ignition switch. Seems like they are around 60 bucks but can't swear to it.

Well we got the book in and turned out it was a screw was loose underneath the steering column!! Boy was my son releived.
