ok so im looking at making some custom tail lights for my 83 turbo coupe and well i dont have the car here and it wont be arriving till the new year..

now my question is:
does anyone know what the dimensions are of the tail lights of the 83 thunderbird? and the stub position on the rear?

im going to design they first onto autodesk inventor before i go out and spend the money of the materials

any info is greatly apreciated.

and i know its a pretty stupid question

There are no stupid questions just stupid answers. The first thing you do is find out the
" Lumen " requierments needed for the taillights. You can't just slap anything together
and put a bulb in it. It has to meet lumen code of the highway traffic act and must have some reflective surface of a given size.

i know that but im doing a custom tail light for LED's and i was just looking for the dimensions i have the lights and reflectors taken care of

Wait till you get the car then make your measurements. If the car has been in an accident and repaired trust me factory dimentions might not be the same.

its been in a minor accident my grand father spun out and dented the 1/4 panel on the passenger side other then that its never been in a car accident
