Oil pressure fluctation

Hello all...

I have a question about oil pressure fluctuation, in my 96 Tbird, V6.
The needle usuallly rest on the "m" of the word 'NORM" on the gauge. However, everyonce in a while, it will drop down to the "n". This seems to be independent of, temperature or RPM of the engine.

Is this something that I should be concerned about?

I have a 93 SC and mine does kind of the same thing..although mine seems to happen after i take it out of park and put it into gear..the pressure drops all the way...but then recoupes and is back at normal?!? weird huh?

I could be wrong but I would check the spark plugs to ensure the cap is on good and the plugs are tight...I recently did a tune up and had a huge oil build up and my pressure dropped when I slowed or took a turn due to also a faulty gasket.

If it fluctuates on turns, check to see if the oil pick up in the pan is "in" the oil.

I have had, when I put a larger pan, the oil pick up not quite set in the oil so momentarlly the pressure drops because it is not picking up any oil.
