Has anyone tried to replace the starter on their Thunderbird themselves? Mine is a 97 with the V-8 4.6 engine, and I thnk I found it between the transmission area and the exhaust pipe on the right side. However, I am unable to loosen the bolts. Any help? Thanks.
I was finally able to get to it after jacking it up high and taking off the right front tire. I've been able to see one bolt and maybe the other (or second) one on top. But it seems that the bolt is rusted or that the bolt I was trying to loosen was one of the bolts for the transmission.
