sputtering idle

Ok so ive done a few small things to fix my car and a high idle problem . it is still idaling at about 1100 rpm i know it should be like 800 rpm.

Here recently if i stop at a train or red light my car will start sputtering vilontly but when i put it in park it will calm down a little Im not sure if it could maybe a bad fuel pmp oir filter problem im not sure. any suggestions?

i just wanted to add the the idler screw is all the way down and it still idles at 1100 rpm.

When your sitting still is the car shaking, like a rocking motion? Makes you think the motor is of balance? If so, Mine did the exact same thing, and it turned out that the distriburator was a little off. But not bad enough that you couldnt drive it.

It also made me think that the altenator was very weak, like it was gonna die.

I just read your "needing help" topic. About the distrib coil. Your distriburator mite be off.

I just replaced the altinator so it better not be dead lol and it wasnt the distributer coil it was actually the ignition coil. Alo i have had vacume problems but i think ive fixed them. this car i just baught from some ppl i didnt really know it has about 140k miles on it. it doesnt shake all the time only on ocasion i havent realy been able to figure out if their is something with the weather or anything that is the same or some other variable.

well.....my uncle timed my distributer a little better than it was and all that stoped on mine. Other than that, i dont know............ But, i dont know if you have or not, make sure the plug wires are making a good connection, if their just lightly clamped on to the spark plug it wont have a good electric current. You probably know that :)

Yes i did know that but ill check its a pain because you have to pull the intercooler off lol.
