My husbands car is a 1980 thunderbird with the 302 v-8. He left it sit for a year so right away we had to replace the coil pack. Now we have to keep the idle a little higher than normal to keep it running period. On start up it tries to stall until it's warm. Any ideas? I tried carb cleaner/flush no luck.

Are you putting into fast idle??? It has a carburetor. You have to pump the gas to the floor once to set the choke on and put it in fast idle before starting it. You start it, it runs at about 1500 rpm and after a few minutes you punch the gas and it comes down to base idle. If you have been doing this then start by looking at the choke and fast idle adjustment.
