Tbird ignition switch problem

I had been having an intermittent problem removing the key from the switch, but now it seems to be permanent. I can turn the car off, but not turn the key to the release position. I think it is related to the park transmission cable, but am not sure. In the past I have been able to jiggle the shift handle in the park position, and it would release. Any ideas?

Re: Tbird ignition switch problem

Not sure what year you have, but there's an interlock pin that's released in Park in the column. Sounds like it's loose.

Ever notice that there's so many high performance parts available for GM products?

Did you ever think that maybe they NEED them?
