I have a 1995 Ford T-Bird and have had to replace the thermostat THREE times. What would cause the thermostat to keep going out?

What engine do you have and what is your definition of the stat " going out " ?
What are you or your car doing when the stat goes out ? What does the old stat look
like after you pull it out ? What stat and where do you buy the replacement ? Need a lot
more info.

Have a 4.6 Liter engine. Simply driving the car. When I say go out I mean the car overheats and I lose all the coolant.

That engine is famous for manifold leaks. Have someone check it out. I know it's summer
but do you have heat in the cab when the engine over heats ?

When you say it goes out, do you mean it gets stuck open....or close? Does your car smoke at all?
