I have a 1993 Thunderbird 3.8 4speed automatic overdrive. No matter where the shifter is placed (park, reverse, drive) the tranny is always engeged in Drive. Shift linkage appears to be correct as well as the throttle linkage. Fluid and filter were changed but no change. Anyone with any thoughts or suggestions, please let me know becuase this one has me stumped. Thanks in advance.
Something broke inside. The shift sector inside the transmission is probably disconnected. I do not know if it can be fixed by just dropping the pan, but it would be a start.
