babyblue Registered User Join Date: Jun 2009 Posts: 1	Transmission failure on '02 Thunderbird?? Anyone have any experience with the torque convertor failing on a '02 model, causing the entire transmission to go? I've only 26K miles on the car. Mechanic says the transmission failed as if I had 226K miles on it. I've heard that this happened with other cars in this year, other makes as well, and that Ford figrued out something was wrong and fixed it in '03. The fact that Ford sent a different replacement TC suggests they know they have an issue with this....Anyone else?
