my water pump has a hole at the bottem where it looks like a bolt fell out and my coolent is leakin from it

What engine is the Thunderbird running? is it the standard water pump or an aftermarket one?

If it looks like it has a hole at the bottom where the bolt fell out, does the hole have a thread?

How old is the water pump? Is it corroded?

V6 3.8 with origanal pump

you know that hole is probably what is called a weep hole. coolant leaks out that hole when your pump seal or bearings go bad. is it near the pump shaft or around the outside edge of the pump housing? i just replaced my 5.0 water pump and it has 2 weep holes, one on top and one on bottom. if the seal/bearings go, you have to get a new or reconditioned one. i payed $45 from carquest.

Correcto on the weep hole. Seal is gone. Buy a recon and turn in the "core".
