Anybody know what color the wire is for the tachometer? It was working for a while, then stopped again. I believe a wire might be corouded, it starts climbing if i really step on it, but then goes back to zero.

How do you know the tach didn't go bad ? Get the manual for the car that has the
wiring diagram. When a corroded wire looses contact it is usually permanent. It doesn't
come back.

Cause when i first got the car i was looking for a place to install an amp wire, and took off the plastic peice that covers the wires under the hood above the driverside wheel well. And forgot about putting it back on, and then it rained for a few days. I put it back on about a week ago.

It raises if i rev the engine up real high, but then goes back to zero
