Need some help! The bonnet has jammed and when i try to pull the lever to release the bonnet it is very slack and doesnt really do much! Got any suggestions guys?

Hi Rups - Ive got exactly the same problem on my 2000 Cougar. Did you find the cause of the problem and a cure?

I had the same problem. It was too slack and when I pulled the lever on day to open the hood, the lever actually unsnapped. Anyway, I really don't know much about cars so my dad had the get the hood open for me. When he did I took a really easy way out of the problem.

There are a lot of bolts that run along the edge of the car where that line runs. I just took the line and moved it to the other side of the bolts. It's been like that for a better part of a year and haven't had any more problems. It's staying right where I put it.

I have the same problem as the original poster. How do I now open my bonnet??
Desperate as i need to recharge my dead battery!
