Hi I am new to this stuff but I hope that I am in the right place, I have a cougar 1999 its a lovely car but just recently when i get up to between 80-90 klms per hr i get a loss in power then it seems like the engines surges forward causing a knocking sound like the engine is trying to escape, on the dashboard the tacho jumps up and down, and sometimes it almost seems that if you pushed it, it would kangaroo hop. I have had it serviced reg. mechanic has changed leads, funny thing is it doesnt do it around town driving only when you get on the highway and get up to the higher speed, and then sometimes it doesnt happen at all...any suggestions???ohman:

sounds like the cylinders are not syncronizing and this is causing them not to have balance but I am not an expert anyways.. I just got my cougar 4 months ago.

If u find out whats the prob tell us.
