I just bought a 1999 mercury cougar 2.0 L. I looked online and it says it is an option to have a keyless remote. Is their anyway to check if it was installed besides buying a keyless remote and testing it?

1. Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN 4 times within 6 seconds.
2. Turn the ignition OFF. The LED in the clock/trip computer will light up continuously
to confirm programming mode.
(If it stays on, you should have the keyless system and you program the remotes as follows)
3. Within 20 seconds, press any button on the first keyless remote. The LED in the
clock will flash 4 times to confirm programming.
4. Within 20 seconds, press any button on second keyless remote.
5. Turn the ignition to RUN. The LED will turn off to indicate end of programming mode.
