The right front strut has broken off at the threads twice. The first one about 2 1/2 months ago, replaced it and now it has broken in the same spot. The first one, I believe was over torqued since it was removed and reinstalled before I bought the car. This one ( Monroematic) was torqued according to the book and the strut manufacturer coincided with the OEM manual. There must be something I'm missing, maybe it was installed incorrectly before I bought the car, because I installed it just like was when I removed it. I have noticed that on the left side there is a rubber piece between the strut tower and the cap. Is this correct placement and could this missing rubber be the cause of my problems? TIA.
