88 Cougar - Brake light

I have a 1988 Cougar XR-7, my problem is the brake light. The brake light only comes on when I fully depress the brake pedal. The brake light switch has been replaced as well as the master cylinder. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Are you sure the switch is adjusted properly?

Re: 88 Cougar - Brake light

Are you talking about the brake light on the dash or the brake lights on the rear of the car? If you are talking about the rears the switch more than likely needs adjustment as r-clar mentioned. If the light on the dash is coming on when you press the peddle, more than likely you have air in the system and needs to be bled as RS mentioned.
