few question
1/ got a check light came on few days back took it to cheak codes and came up ok no codes went off but came back on day later could it just be faulty light on dash?
2/when starting the car we can hear a humming type of noise coming from the backseat area of the car any ideas what it could be ty.we only had the car a month.

If you turn the key to run, but not all the way to start, does the humming stop after a few seconds?

the humming comes on when start to car and not before that , how can i check if its the fuel pump, i am not that mechanical minded with cars.

You should hear the fuel pump buzz for a couple of seconds when the ignition is turned on .Perfectly normal and nothing to worry about .

sounds more like a humm that a buzz and its comming from passinger side backseat area sounds like it but theres no codes we had them checked but cheak light still on ??

Depending on the the make and model of the car will depend on the sound based on the sound dampening material in the car, on a car with little sound dampening, the fuel pump will sound more like a buzz, with a higher end car, like the cougar, the fuel pump will sound more like a hum. The check engine with no code concerns me more, I found one hit on line that claims that this is a somewhat common issue, but I can't find anything to back this up, anyone else?
