It certainly looks cool. What platform is it based upon? RWD, FWD? Joe

Looks good. Would make a great new Cougar if based on the Mustang RWD platform. Better than the current HAIR DRESSERS CAR (tm) Cougar.

The Messenger looks more like a cougar than the car presently called that. These "hairdresser cars" look more like a Mitsu...Just my $0.02.

I agree, Ford/ Mercury shouldn't have made a front wheel drive Cougar. I like the car and all , but it wasn't very good marketing.

Before it came out I would have agreed, but after owning a 99 since new. My mind has changed. My Cougar handles like a Z28 or Trans Am which is ten times the handling of a Mustang GT, which I would have bought if the dough was there. I have been very happy with the car overall. It took a lot of ques from the Mercur Scorpio and Xrti. I wish Ford had marketed the car and built the Eliminator edition. Oh well, I really like the Messenger.
