Question about the 02 cougar - Ford Forums

I have a 2002 cougar. I have raced other cougars in the past. but i have noticed that mine is a C2 cougar.. and there's was not. What does the C2 mean. and does it have more HP or something.. cuz i have raced other 2002 cougars that were not C2 cougars and they were fixed up and i still beat them. so what is the difference between my car and there's?

There are 3 sport builds to a Cougar. The Zn, XR, and the C2. Each lacks a speed limiter, but are rev-limited at roughly 7200 RPMs. The Cougar is limited by drag at 143 mph, whereas the non-sports are limited at 120 no matter which gear you're in.

Other than that, you've got the 6-disk changer and whatever interior you opted for.
