Speedometer not working?
I just go the car in June the speedometer didn't work. I replaced the speed sensor and the problem persist. I have the ford shop manual followed the testing points to test the harness and everything tested out the ohms where under 5 and I was getting over 10v at the speed sensor connector. I just received a cluster that I was waiting for today still doesn't work with that. The sweeping test works and I went and changed the speed sensor I had for another one to make sure I didn't get a bad sensor. Has anyone had the needle break of the sensor inside the hole? Is it possible to see it and would the new speed sensors fit if there was a piece of needle in there. I have no idea what it could be now since I tested the harness at the points the manual called for. Does anyone have any idea what else I could check? I forgot to add my left rear abs wheel speed sensor is not working, but I don't think that would make the speedometer stopped working since it doesn't control it. I have the p0500 for vss also. Here are the test that I ran.
Test 1: I had to measure the resistance between HEC C808b pin 9, circuit 8-PC60 (Wh/BU), harness side and VSS pin 2. It states that if the resistance is less then 5 ohms to go to the next test. My resistance was less than 5
Test 2: VSS ground, test vss pin 3 and ground. If the resistance is less than 5 ohms to continue to the next test. My resistance was less than 5
Test 3: Voltage, test vss pin 1 and ground if voltage is greater than 10 volts replace the vss. My voltage was at 12.
How do I check for signal when I lift the car and have it running to see if the cluster is getting a signal from the vss?
