Question Strange clicking noise from the passenger side front wheel

Hi everyone,

I have a 2000 Mercury Cougar which recently started to make some clicking noise when driving over speed bumpers. It seems that the noise comes from the front passenger side wheel. It keeps making the sound for a while and then it stops by itself until I come across a new speed bumper. Now, I do not know much about repairing cars so I would appreciate any ideas on this problem.

Regards,
Ilker.

Have you tried bouncing it in the driveway?

No I haven't actually. Forgot to mention some detail I see...
The car started making this sound right after I've had one of the rear tires changed. Don't know, maybe there is a connection or maybe not. Now I know a lot of cars make similar sounds when turning left or right but with this it happens only when driving over speed bumpers...

As you say this noise started after tyre changed , might be advisable to get it jacked up and check that wheel / tyre ?

If the vehicle has hub caps, remove them and see if it goes away

Hi, it is very common for the front sway bar links to start clicking over small bumps, when they are worn out.
