Surging on deceleration
Hi all,
My 2002 w/5-speed has a curious RPM trait when decelerating or coasting down in gear with the clutch engaged. Seems it has 2 levels of compression braking; Hi & Low. I'll try to explain it in an understandable manner below:
When removing my foot from the accelerator pedal, compression braking will start dropping speed at one level then shift to a more noticable level then go back to the less severe level. I'd sure like to get the more severe level on a regular basis. This happens in all gears.
It almost seems like the throttle will hang at a higher RPM & then drop to a lower RPM & then repeat the cycle. Is there an electric 'dash-pot' idle control arrangement on the injector system that I could disconnect?
Any ideas/thoughts?
