i have a 99 cougar tranny just started slipping it only does it once in awhile i think is a sensor or something and it only does it when its in 4th gear if anyone knows what this is let me know

I'm guessing its an automatic? Change the throttle position sensor, should solve your problem. Should be available at any major auto parts store and installs on your throttle body.
