vibration when braking on 95 mercury cougar v8 4.6 L

I have got a bad vibration when i brake over 35 mph. I have replaced the rotors twice. Put a new control arm on the right side and put new brake pads on both sides, but i still get this vibration. I have put on a new caliper on the left side but it didn;t do anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Did you check the wheel bearings?

try having your rotors turned, could be warped..

Re: vibration when braking on 95 mercury cougar v8 4.6 L

Sounds like you need to "Bed" the brakes. To do this, you must have either new or freshly turned rotors. The idea behind this procedure is to transfer a slight but uniform amount of brake pad material to the rotors. To do this start by finding a highway with little traffic. Accelerate to about 70 MPH and then brake very hard and let off easy just before you vehicle stops but do not let it stop completely. Do this several times until you brakes become hot enough that you can smell them. Just remember to never stop completely while performing this procedure because you will deposit a large amount of material in one spot on the rotors which will make you brakes have a bad vibration and you'l need to turn them again because you won't be able to remove this lump area. Hope this helps.

A check to make sure it's in the front, is to pinch off the rear brake hose (carefuly) and drive it to see if it still vibrates. If it stops, your rears are the cause.
