We met at the Tickford day back in 2002. You guys (club) looked after us and we stayed at the same Hotel. Spoke on the phone once about club issues.
You and I have the same car on order except I was told there was no way I would see my car this year. It is also a Rapid GT-P with plenty of options. I decided to make my car a 06 build which together with the holiday period will mean a Feb. delivery. Was looking forward to seeing your car.
Dealer’s stock car has also been delayed on what they thought. It’s still at least 2 weeks away and that would have been one of the very first ordered. Actually I can’t say I have heard of too many BF Gts in dealerships yet. F6s seem to be about but Gts are thin on the ground.
Looking forward to seeing your car as you will definitely beat my cars arrival.
I had delivery day changes too, but then it suddenly showed up two weeks early, so don't get too freaked out. I wasn't actually ready for it and just got a call saying
" your car showed up this morning ". Had to arrange payment, insurance etc wasn't really ready!!
Well I said 11 days and guess what Im now back to 25 days....
Bloody FPV have been giving duff info to my dealer, so instead of picking up my car on Friday, Im now waiting for another 3 weeks, well thats until FPV change their minds again.
Im so disappointed, I loose my XR8 this week, thank god McAlister Motors in Young NSW think something of their customers and are loaning me a car.
FPV are saying they said nothing about the Nov delivery, and its not their problem, the dealer is dumbfounded, saying he only passes on the info provided by FPV.
I can tell you my passion for Ford/FPV has been badly dented.
Hey Terry, not discounting that FPV may have provided your dealer with misleading delivery information but do you think there is a chance that the dealer in fact got his wires crossed? The guy you're dealing with may not have but his stock controller may have. Just some food for thought. Like others have said just stay focused on how much enjoyment you will have in less than a month
