Today we had a little more than usual fun. A customers car, a manual GTP.
We have fitted our usual bolt-ons, BPT underdrives, Herrod Helix (already fitted) SSinductions 80mm thottle body, BPT Thermostat, along with a stepped header system.
We also fitted some camshafts and had APS fit a unichip.
The results?
The car made 230rwkw stock, BA GTP manual.
it now has 295.5rwkw. We couldn't use Mobil synergy fuel because our client is in an outlying area, so garden grade premium ulp was all we could use.
We also swapped helixes this arvo with a BPT item, and it picked up qanother 4rwkw.
1 kw to go.
Thanks to Barry at BPT, Rod Clark for always hearing my ideas, Mark to applying the blowtorch, and OFR!
This is just the beginning. We have only been playing with these things for a few months now. Thanks also to all the forums members for their positive contributions and support.
As soon as I can work out how to post the Dyno sheet, I will.
thats mighty impressive. but yeah i am also interested to hear on how many km on the dial. time and time again we here of these boss engines opening up after they get a few decent km down.

Chris how smooth is the GT now after the camshafts and the Unichip install and tune?
Are you happy with the part throttle response and idle quality with the bigger cams?
Last question how does the car accelerate on the road with nearly 300 RWkW's?
That is awesome Chris, i am counting the weeks untill my Pursuit goes in for basically the same mods, apart from cams.
How did you go getting the idle up after the cam replacement ? Was it done via the Unichip ?

The car did idle without the unichip, better than I had expected, but once the unichip was on it was like a stock GT. (only much meaner :))
I was more than impressed with the level of workmanship displayed by yourself and robert today.
This car is a monster, and i have improved it further.
Thankyou for all of your help, it idles like stock, and recoils like an M16
Cant wait to take on the blown cars!!
Thanks again
Chris
Bluepower Racing Developments
Chris, It was terrific to meet and chat with you today and it was our pleasure to work with you on the GT project.
I'm really stoked to know that the idle quality has been improved after the fitment and dyno tuning of the Unichip computer, who says the GT engine with bigger cams can't have a smooth idle...........you certainly proved your point with this camshaft design.
It's very pleasing to know that your camshaft development has certainly improved the big Boss engine no end, just goes to show that there is no substitute for continual research and development..............would say for sure that there's an improvement of at least 10 to 12 RWkW's with the fitment of your camshafts.
It's amazing that the Boss engine is now starting to show it's real potential and with the correct combination of tuning parts, 300 RWkW's is now a reality and all be it with excellent street manners and quite reasonable fuel economy for a full size car.
Well done Chris I'm sure the owner of this GT is going to be one very happy guy.
