Hey all. I have been searching but obviously not in the correct places. Was wondering if anybody knows any info about fitting a second cold air intake to the standard Tickford airbox. I have been reading a XR6T forum and they are fitting the Typhoon 2nd CAI that runs straight in from under the headlight and I had a look at mine and there is a fair amount of room to do the same. Does anyone know if the BA Typhoon snorkel will fit (with some persuasion if neccessary) the AU or will it need to be custom. The XR6T forums are also using the BA XR8 snorkel but this is for a round pod filter and would need even more persuasion. If anybody knows of any threads they could direct me to, that would also be great.

mate what you can do is visit the bloked in terren point, and they have a hectic cold air kit with twin inlets..i saw it its awesome...around 400bucks for it though...

I have seen the threads you refer to but they're scattered about so it's hard to find them all in the one place. What I have noticed is that a lot of the XR6 Turbo owners are making their own 2nd cai, which can be done for less than $30. The easiest way is to use concertina hose (either 90mm or 100mm). You need to cut a hole on the front of the airbox (either 90mm or 100mm depending on the size of hose), and attach the hose using a dedicated sleeve attachment. It's all available from the plumbing section of Bunnings. Good luck.
