DABOSS, I took my GTP back for it's 3000K's checkup, and that was when they discovered the excessive oil consumption. I also had them do an oil change to continue checking the problem. Also they discovered a oil leak in the rear diff. All repairs were carried out under warranty. Certainly was worth doing the check up.
3,000 klms in 3 weeks!!. Changed oil as a precaution. Who would expect a brand new engine that the original oil would last 15,000 klms AND not affect the engine.
Also changed oil @ 10,500 klms (ie - 7,500 klms from last). I will always change oil every 7,500 klms.

I also had a leaking rear diff.
Tightened up the rear cover and all seams ok.
To reaseal the rear cover requires removal of the diff.
I am also doing 7,500klm oil changes.
It is worth changing the oil at 3,000klm
I have also changed my gearbox and diff oils.
I did the 3,000 at 1500 km and then reverted to my standard 7500 km changes.
Also had to change the brake fluid after a sticking caliper boiled it at Calder. The caliper has since been replaced by FPV under warranty.

Gear Box Oil? Aren't they sealed and dont require changing? Changing Gearbox oil regularily is not always a good idea anyway.

I had my 3000klm check done at 1500klm,does that make sense to you, changed the oil and filter they found no problems besides the bubbles on the stripes which has been fixed since then, had another oil change and filter at 4800klm just tightened the steering arm otherwise no problems all systems go
Cheers John

Mine has 1260km on it now and i have been advised by dealer to get it back to workshop asap. I have noticed oil consumption already. It has been blowing a little smoke as well. So could be early checkup for mine. Fpv told me to only use oil that is on cap Castrol for late GT and Mobil on early GT.
I cant see changing the oil in the box could be harmful, cleaner the better I would have thought. The box has no run in period I think, could be wrong.
I just checked the oil....and its down..........I thought they fixed the oil consumption problem......
also need the stripes done as they have bubbles...also have a problem with the hand brake ratchet not holding.......and that friggen gear stick rattle is driving me nutz
anyway just washed and noticed one of the lower driving lights has a crack (not happy Jan) anyone know how much they are to replace
