mmm interesting if its true it could use the GT auto & manual gearboxes.

with the cult status the xr6 turbo is building i feel a turbo six is a must in the fpv lineup and im sure they would be developing one as we speak but at 320kws i wonder where that leaves the 290KW GT??
not to mention room for a GTHO in the future remembering that the XR8 needs all of the 20kw advantage it has over the XR6T so a HO would require at least 350kw to stay ahead of a 320kw six imo!

id say if FPV release a turbo it will be closer to 270kw which would make it faster than WRX/SV8/SS/XR8 without putting to much stress on the motor.

There's no way that FPV would release a weapon like this, can you imagine the field day that Joshua Dowling would have?! My tip is 250kw. It wouldn't make sense (from a marketing point of view) to have a 6 cylinder that was more powerful than their flagship V8 GT. It would be good to see though...

Undoubtedly there would be some temptation to produce a better XR6-t, especially considering that the performance has been knobbled down to the level it is presently at.

I am sure that testing of something similar to that described is probably under way. Along with a whole raft of other future developments. Doesn't mean (before we all get too carried away) that it will ever (1) prove durable (2) fit into the product line or (3) ever become more than an engineering exercise.

The whole 320kw 6 thing is bollocks. As Russ says.. There probably is a mule floating around the place with the boost turned up, however that doesn't mean that the vehicle will ever see the light of day in a FPV showroom.

EA GT is a perfect example of this scenario..

i think there is a place for a turbo 6 in the fpv range sometime in the future hopefully we will see one.
