4500klm & Still Getting Better
Went against my usual intuition and fitted a Herrod air injection to the car yesterday. I judge performance increases by how the car responds when driving, not by dyno kilowatts, and the car definately feels more responsive, the exhaust note has changed to louder and more urgent, there is a slight whistle under acceleration, which I have been assured is normal and not an air leak, however there seems to be a smidgen more rattle at idle, despite that it was well worth the $300. Next comes gt-ps underdrive pulleys, I'll stop there and wait until the Typhoon turns up. I had a few minor issues rectified without any question at the 3000k inspection.
The car has a replaced mandrel bent twin 2.5 cat back pipes and centre hotdogs, Batten cold air induction & BMC filter, and now a Herrod air pump. I don't know the kWs but it goes like hell and is absolutely improving with klms. I have heard that some manual cars have trouble with the diffs clunking and or the retaining bolts coming loose, apparently there is a FMC update fix for this. Does anybody know the FMC manual update number or description? I am driving from Perth to Brisbane return on 10th April (yes I have my carbra) and would like to get the back end checked out before hand. Awesome car, I'm rapt. Adelaide 500 GO MARCUS!
