Air Bubble on Dash

Hi guys

I have a GTP September 2003 build. Absolutely wrapped in the car. Fitted a full Herrod system in July this year. The only problem I have encountered is an air bubble on the dash. It is not really noticeable in cold weather but expands as the interior heats up. The dealer told me the dashboard would need to be replaced but as this is a major job and the car is free of rattles and squeaks I decided to live with the bubble. Has anyone else experienced this, how was it fixed and are there any motor trimmers in Sydney that can fix it? Would appreciate some feedback.

Jim the only real way to fix this is to replace the dash/crash pad under warranty. Find the best tech you can get from a dealer you trust. Beers always helps. Get him/her to take their time with out pressure from you or the service manager then you shouldnt end up with any rattles. Good luck.

Put a dash mat on it. I had my dash replaced in my TS 50 and it went back 6 times before they got it right! I wish I just got a dash mat.

Thanks for that. The dealer was Sinclair Ford and I have found them to be very good, especially when they fitted the Herrod system. I've read elsewhere in FF where someone recommended to leave a carton or two in the boot. I might try that.

Yep,i had the same problems, had it fixed under warranty and the work was done at NewOak Ford in Oakleigh by their technician Mario, did a fantastic job and might take 2 - 3 days the whole dash was removed and refitted and without any rattles.I was really pleased with Mario the way he takes his work with pride.
Cheers John

Thanks John. Sinclair Ford have told me they will replace the dash if I change my mind. It is unsightly and most people don't spot it but I know that it's there. Regards Jim

Yep that's right, Penrith in western Sydney. The FPV salesman was Clint but he has moved on to Adelaide. He was pretty good. Jim Young
