A BIG well done and congratulations to Mark O'Connor in his standard AUII XR8 220 for his overall 3rd place after running a close 2nd to Peter Brock for the first two days. O'Connor was only beaten by Brock and Michael Stillwell in his Mustang, who is an experienced touring car racer from days gone by.

Mark even beat Brock in one event. No mean feat when you consider Brocks car is a purpose built Targa beast with a cage.

Meanwhile, Dick Johnson was a distant 8th outright in his DJR 320. The only time Dick beat Mark was the 400m flying sprint and only by a m%^ks hair .
The BA320 couldn't even beat the AU220 at the drags!

Sorry forgot to add a 15 sec pass well i'll leave that to the driver but seriously a good result for the Ford's i just hope next time that they can win this event.

The 15 sec pass was a flying 400m and also took the BA320 over 15 sec (maybe it was wet or not a straight line event?)

The 400m drags at Heathcote saw the AU220 run 14.65 which I think is fairly respectable for a stock 220.

What was not so respectable was the DJR320's 14.84 (assuming conditions were the same for each competitor)

Must of been wet??? Surely at a track such as heathcote would of been subject to some sort of weather conditions for the DJR320 to not manage at least a sub 14?

The AU time is decent but who the hell drove the 320?

DJ it was. The mag says DJ, quote, "could be heard planning a rematch with a car that was capable of mixing it with Brock and his beast".

Maybe an AU XR8 or T3?

sbutlers T3 can run a 13.5 and that would have beat Brocks 13.77 at the drags
