AU11 IRS knock

I have a series 2 au fitted with irs rear end, has anyone come across a knocking noise ( quite evident) when decellerating? more so at low speed eg. 60 in 4th gear (manual). Have had all dif mounts checked out and seemed to be ok, any other suggestions?

how did you check your mounts? get a lever in there and check vigorously also uni joints and worth checking for stuffed shocky(axle bounce without power to keep it down)

I checked the mounts with a bar and they seem solid , uni joints are fine. think i need to stick it on a hoist and load it up to see whats moving

Re: AU11 IRS knock

Mate its the shock mounts, there shagged. Its a very common problem with AU IRS & ford have been replacing them under warrenty for a long time. Some guys have had theres replaced a couple of times.
There is an updated shock mount that Ford have come up with, & by doing so,have addmitted there is a problem. So go to your dealer & put the pressure on & you should get them replaced free..
