Clevo with injection and modified heads would easy push out 550nm and 300 kw with the same state of tune as the last of the windsors.

Re: AUII 220kW Tickord XR8 Engine Specs

when Motor Mag did a comparison between the AUII XR8 220kw and the T-3 5.6L 250kw, they said " even though the 5.6L has bucket loads of torque and hit the redline with avengence, it is a very rough running eng, meaning that it was not smooth, but course, and the 220kw 5L from the AUII was a better beast than the 164kw,185kw,200kw,250kw(5.6L) variants of the family of engines".
i have driven all of the above, and even though the 5.6L is the most powerful of the bunch, engine refinement was a disappointment, but boy does it pull hard.
I must add that before driving the T-3, i had a drive of a HSV 255kw LS1 and the difference is when u hit 3800rpm in the HSV(6spd), the T-3 is pulling away hard off the line, but the gen3 needs revs and plenty of them before she decides to make power, but by then the T-3 is 2 car lengths ahead, and only at high speed does the gen3 start to catch up, but as we all know, its the 1/4 mile that counts.

Re: AUII 220kW Tickord XR8 Engine Specs

I had a 200kw AUII and it was a much smoother engine than the 220. The 220 has a lumpy idle but loses it courseness as the revs increase. The 5.6 is much the same.

You can't make power without some duration and lift in a cam. I can live with it.

Whilst the 220 easily sees off a 200, the 5.6 absolutley creams a 220. It also uses a lot of 98 ron doing it.

Some 5.6's are smoother than others. Mine will happily pull from 30kph in 3rd gear, but mostly i'm back to second and into it!

As you say, the 5.6 is the weapon of choice on the street
